The third fruit bearing tree at home & garden that excites our taste is the Coconut.  When the coconut flowers start to bloom on its 6th years, my wife’s excitement was truly on top of the coconut tree.

Coconut is called the tree of life in many Asian countries.  A matured coconut tree can produce about 50 to 200 coconuts per year depending on variety and growing conditions.

Coconut fruits are large nut like shape about 11 inches in diameter and about 6 inches in length.  It has a hard shell with a layer of white edible meat and about a glassful of sweet coconut water, the best natural water.

Occasionally, my wife and I take coconut water in the form of “buko” juice for hydration, the electrolytes and for prevention of urinary, kidney and bladder problems.  We are also allotting some time making Coconut vinegar from fermented coconut water.

Coconut is highly nutritious, rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals.  Coconut offers a lot of health benefits beside from its nutritional value.  Coconut oil helps strengthen our immune system; it is used in traditional medicine to help relieves symptoms &/or reduce health risks associated with diabetes, benign prostatic hyperplasia, liver disease, haemorrhoids, fatigue syndrome and epileptic seizures, and many more.

Finally, a good laugh is the next best routine after a hearty meal and/or from a workout session.  Cheers everyone.
